Supply Chain Associate
Position Summary:

This Supply Chain Associate | Industrial Engineer position will be responsible for analysis and utilization of continuous improvement tools to design supply chain solutions. In addition, this role will drive margin improvement and capacity growth through waste elimination. This will be done through thorough analysis of supply chain needs and in depth comprehension of the manufacturing processes including internal and external material flow, development of strong relationships with external suppliers in addition to developing and maintaining strong partnerships with product engineering and procurement teams. Successful candidates for this position tasked will also be tasked exploring new ways to improve the end to end supply chain by leveraging technology and process innovations. The position will be out in front tackling the latest and greatest business challenges and framing solution options while partnering with internal teams for actual implementation. You will define best practices for your area of focus, including baseline metrics and goals, and recommending process improvements. The ideal candidate has a passion for translating business need into system capability while providing the vision to see solutions through to delivery.

  • Partner with Supply Chain leadership to understand capability needs and to improve the overall efficiency of planning teams
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring effective delivery of supply chain planning solutions
  • Ability to work within teams to deliver large scale, high-value projects by leveraging an established delivery methodology
  • Provide expert architectural, functional and process guidance on system capabilities and solution approaches
  • Work within cross-functional teams to drive successful deployments
  • Leverage metrics and performance data to understand opportunities for improvement
  • Successfully measure and improve supply chain performance to include vendor assessments and key supply chain performance indicators such as delivery, material cost, freight cost, inventory turns and order receipt to delivery cycle time
  • Identify productivity improvements and cost savings opportunities and interact with operations associates to implement new processes
  • Complete empirical analyses of existing processes and procedures and document all results
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis
  • Identify capacity expansion opportunities and complete the associated feasibility studies
  • Perform financial cost-benefit analyses for existing and future operational processes
  • Assist management with developing operating and capital budgets; act as a main contact point for the development, submittal, and tracking of all capital expenditure requests
  • Coordinate corporate resources to research and implement Supply Chain initiatives
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Research (or related field) required; advanced degree in a related field or MBA a plus
  • 0-4 years experience in supply chain technology and operations
  • Manufacturing Engineering, Design for Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma or TPS experience and skill set preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain best practices
  • Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Supply chain modeling: linear optimization, simulation analysis, analytical modeling experience required (intermediate knowledge).
  • Strong computer skills with focuses on modeling
