Cargill AgHorizons United States serves farm customers, ethanol companies, feed mills and food further processors across the United States from approximately 120 locations in 17 states. Products and services include grain origination and storage, grain marketing resources, agronomic advice, crop insurance and crop input products.
The Upper Mississippi Farm Service Group has 11 elevators located in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. This position is a key member of the Accounting team that will ensure farmers and co-ops are paid accurately and timely. Primary responsibilities are Accounting focused, including grain truck settlements, balance sheet reconciliation, and other related duties.
Ensures that farmers and 3rd party contractors are invoiced accurately and that payments are received in a timely manner. Strong candidates will work well in a team environment back up other team members as needed.
You will interact with customers, merchants, various internal departments and elevator location personnel.
60% Truck Grain Settlements- complete accounting transactions to ensure timely, accurate processing of payments to farmer and co-op customers and invoices to end-users. Work with Lynx and JD Edwards systems.
20% Balance Sheet reconciliation & Other Duties – reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure fees/premiums are correct on customer contracts and A/R collections are timely. Input payments or invoices into JDE to vendors as needed. Deposit checks received.
20% Additional Duties - Assist co-workers as workload dictates. Assist with special projects as needed.
Relocation will not be provided for this position.
Associate's Degree in Accounting or atleast 2 years of Accounting experience
Intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Excel
Proven ability to accurately and consistently execute complex and detailed processes and procedures.
Ability to learn quickly and in a constantly changing environment.
Demonstrated willingness to learn and a positive attitude about taking on additional responsibilities, processes and procedures
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Proven strong ability to work both independently and as a member of a team.
Ability to prioritize effectively.
Proven strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to work extended hours as job demands and changes in seasonal work load

Proactive in providing solutions and process improvements
Familiarity with grain merchandising including contract terms and specifications
Accounting analysis skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Experience using JDE and LYNX
