This position is primarily responsible for improving business processes and supporting critical business strategies by managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of CCC Financial business applications.

Assist in the annual financial audit by compiling fiscal data to be reviewed by external auditors and included in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report as well as other reports. Prepares complete, accurate, and timely internal and external financial and governmental reports. Streamlining existing processes, and developing new processes to improve office’s ability to support strategic goals. Responsible for the establishment, review, and analysis of major financial systems, including CCC’ general ledger and all associated interfaces.

Ensure the timely and proper application of Governmental; Accounting Standards (GASB) Statements, Interpretations, Concepts Statements and Technical Bulletins. Develops policies and procedures for financial systems and ensures implementation by monitoring staff compliance. Assist in the creation and development of all required financial reports and review prior to issuance for departmental use.

Coordinates the development, documentation, implementation, and communication of departmental policies and procedures. Trains staff on accounting policy and system functionality. Frequent interaction with OIT and other business partner departments such as Budget, HR and Student Financial Services.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications B.A. / B.S. from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance supplemented with over 10 years of professional accounting, governmental reporting and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience. Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements, audit techniques and financial report preparation.

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and projects, mobilize efforts toward completion, and deliver with a high degree of quality on a consistent basis. Excellent organizational, analytical, decision-making and administrative skills. Must be able to work well with employees at all levels of the organization with proven experience in managing and directing a diversified work staff. Must be able to handle all situations with tact, persuasiveness, and diplomacy.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Must be proficient in application software such as PeopleSoft or similar ERP system, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
