HCC offers accounting courses for Certified Bookkeeping, A.A. degree in Accounting, and CPA Exam candidacy. This position requires the candidate to demonstrate the ability to teach successfully, excellent communication skills with faculty and students, proficient technology skills, a strong commitment to teaching excellence, interest in creative achievement, and commitment to the community college mission. Teaching responsibilities include day and evening courses.
Position duties include teaching HCCs various accounting courses, preparing relevant teaching and assessment materials, engaging and advising students, writing syllabi with course expectations and objectives, timely grading course work, submitting required reports, participating in college and community responsibilities, and coordinating accounting courses.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Plus excellent medical insurances, paid leaves and tuition reimbursement.
This position is not overtime eligible.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, an active Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) license, professional accounting experience.
Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is strongly preferred. Experience teaching Accounting Standards Codification and knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards are preferred. Supervisory responsibilities with other faculty and staff are preferred.
