Roles & Responsibilities
Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records
Reconciles general ledger accounts with activity
Completes daily, weekly and monthly Financial reports, include key metrics and reviews financial results with management personnel
Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs
Prepares external audit materials and external financial reporting
Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures
Business Plan, Budget, & Forecasting
Participates in annual budget preparation and reconciliation
Conducts internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls
Inventory & Cycle Count
Reviews and authorizes and posts cycle counts. Ensures counts are completed by associates for assigned areas
Process Improvement (Lean/Continuous Improvement)
Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems
Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, cost accounting, and/or payroll
Plans and directs accounting activities within the plant accounting by supervising and performing various accounting duties
Reviews capital expenditure project completion with project managers
Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls

Education and Experience Required
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance
Five plus (5+) years of related accounting experience and/or training
Solid understanding of GAAP
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with Intermediate PowerPoint and Word
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Preferred Skills & Experiences
ERP System experience, specifically JD Edwards
Financial software experience; specifically Hyperion
Demonstrated leadership/management skills
Strong working knowledge of inventory practices and controls within a manufacturing environment. This includes managing product inventories, scrap, WIP, BOM, and cycle counts.
Ability to train/manage/lead Lean/CI activities
