Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

This position will manage the accounting function for the Bard Operations Center (BOC). This individual will be responsible for ensuring the strict compliance to US GAAP, accurate and timely financial consolidation and reporting, and driving continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Supervision of staff including analyst and clerk. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluations.
  • Provide support and direction to the Mexican Plant Finance Managers as directed by the Director of Finance.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely consolidation of the financial statements, budgets, and forecasts of the Mexican plants as well as BOC PR.
  • Drive continuous improvement to streamline monthly close processes, forecasting, budgeting and all other areas of financial processes and reporting.
  • Oversee and manage the Fixed Assets of the BOC as well as the Mexican plants to ensure proper tax treatment, depreciation, insurance values, and capitalization of CIP assets.
  • Responsible for transactional accounting related to and insuring integrity of the BOC General Ledger.
  • Direct and perform month-end and year-end financial reporting. Supervise preparation and input of all monthly journal vouchers and ensure accuracy.
  • Manage and analyze all balance sheet balances. Oversee balances at the Mexican plants to ensure all accounts have proper documentation for justification and all balances are within acceptable ranges.
  • Direct and perform account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Supervise the AP process, ensuring timely and accurate payments and proper AP aging management.
  • Responsible for correct management of all intercompany balances.
  • Manage and develop strategies around profit in inventory and foreign exchange rates.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred discipline in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 6+ years of experience with 3+ years of financial reporting.
Supervisory experience.
MBA/MPA and/or CPA/CMA preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) capability a plus.
Proficiency in computer systems and applications, specifically in Excel.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
Ability to travel internationally.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience working within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous experience with intercompany, consolidations, and international business.
  • Willingness to relocate for future advancement within Bard preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred discipline in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 6+ years of experience with 3+ years of financial reporting.
Supervisory experience.
MBA/MPA and/or CPA/CMA preferred.
