Responsibilities:
Manages an accounting staff while assisting with training and monitoring performance issues. Promotes a team environment and provides work direction by coordinating staff meetings and work calendar.
Responsible for being knowledgeable of team's clients management agreements, ensuring copy of the current management agreement is uploaded into iTrack, and working with REM teams to ensure requirements and terms of the management agreement are being followed.
Reviews and verifies financial statement packages prior to submittal to Client or Real Estate Manager. Ensures the accuracy of all reporting.
Reviews and ensures the accuracy of all reports, e.g., accounting schedules, bank reconciliation, BAIFs etc. generated by the team.
Ensures that cash/accrual basis books are properly maintained.
Reviews and approves all journal entries for accuracy and completeness.
Reviews management fee calculations and makes sure they are in accordance with the current management agreement. Ensures related invoices are paid in a timely manner.
Reviews and approves Corporate A/R and CBRE Tech Services A/R reconciliations and ensures open issues are resolved.
Ensures all debt, real estate tax, sales tax and owner distribution payments are made in a timely manner and internal databases are updated and maintained.
Identifies training needs of the team and assists in coordinating the development of training materials and schedules.
Actively participates in the instruction of accounting training classes.
Reviews monthly point worksheets and may enter allocations into PeopleSoft.
Researches and responds to accounting inquiries.
Ability to troubleshoot problems and issues that arise.
Participates in external audits as requested.
Completes annual staff performance reviews, semi-annual reviews and establishes performance goals with their team.
Continuously evaluates and supports internal controls.
Reviews budgets and annual year-end recovery calculations and ensures they are completed in a timely manner.
Plans staffing assignments to create balanced workloads and ensures coverage at all times.
Effectively delegates work to staff and accepts responsibility for timely and accurate completion of that work.
Acts as a liaison with Property Management promoting an open and constructive communication, ensuring a positive relationship.
Ensures all Client requests are processed timely, accurately and with a high level of professionalism to guarantee Client satisfaction.
Coordinates and leads the transitions of properties for both existing and new clients.
Proactively communicates with Senior Management to ensure they are informed of all activities within their team.
Other duties may be assigned.
Formally supervises individual employees and/or subordinate supervisors within a work unit and/or group.
Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating direct reports.
Coordinates and assigns tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.
Directly or indirectly responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation for work unit and/or group.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B/S) or Equivalent experience.
4+ years related job experience w/degree 5+ years related job experience w/o degree.
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents.
Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles.
Ability to effectively respond, verbally or written, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints.
Ability to make effective presentations on general topics to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Ability to inspire employees to take desired action.
Ability to inspire and motivate employees and client groups to take desired action.
Requires a high level of commitment to customer service, whether co-workers or clients.
In depth understanding of accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP) and financial terms and principles.
In depth understanding of all chapters of CAPP & SAS70 compliance as it relates to CAS.
Ability to calculate complex figures such as percentages, discounts, commissions, CPI calcs and sale prorations.
Able to forecast and prepare budgets.
Conducts complex financial and business analysis including the preparation of complex reports.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations.
Understands and monitors the impact of decisions on other functional areas.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and to work independently.
Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; demonstrates appropriate business etiquette.
Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences.
Demonstrates ability to handle complex employee issues confidentially and fairly.

Advanced experience in PC based software. (i.e. Microsoft Office) and Real Estate accounting Software.
