Overview:

The Accounting Manager for Order to Cash (OTC) oversees the accounting for patient related revenues, accounts receivable and related reserves, depository bank account reconciliations, and patient refunds. The manager of OTC is responsible for developing and insuring timely delivery of weekly and monthly reports as well as detailed analysis for upper management related to this highly visible area.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for review of work performed by 3-5 Senior, Supervising Senior Accountants, or others with similar levels of responsibility
  • Develops and implements procedures to ensure the quality and timeliness of work produced by the OTC team
  • Work with the OTC Supervising Senior Accountants in the prioritization and review of staff activities to ensure appropriate work quality and staff productivity
  • Manage performance and ensure ongoing development of staff. Assist direct reports in the management and development of their staff. This includes setting goals for the department and staff as well as preparing and conducting annual performance reviews with each direct report
  • Perform detailed analysis involving key accounts and controls in the order to cash cycle
  • Ensure that accruals, reserves, and management estimates related to various key accounts in the order to cash cycle are properly calculated and supported and that any related issues are reported to senior management and resolved in a timely manner
  • Manage aspects of the monthly, quarterly and yearly close process
  • Manage aspects of external and internal audit activities
  • Review reconciliations and account analysis performed by direct reports and other OTC staff members
  • Develop and implement Accounting Policies and Standard Operating Procedures to support business needs and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Review and enhance analysis and analytical processes and controls
  • Assist direct reports in resolution of complex and/or non-routine issues
  • Ensure effective working relationships with Field Administrative Area Managers and Directors of Operations and other key business partners

Qualifications:
  • 4 year degree in accounting
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred
  • 7+ years experience in Corporate Accounting environment with at least 4 years of people management responsibility
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Financial systems conversion experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated business acumen with a strong understanding of financial controls and financial statements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage performance of a large team for superior results
  • Excellent Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages
  • Ability to maintain composure and work under pressure with strict time constraints
