The position performs a variety of accounting tasks and related clerical support functions including: maintenance of financial records; processing related data such as invoices, vouchers and other documents; monitoring and reconciling accounts as assigned; researching, tracking and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies in a timely manner.
The incumbent completes special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required and keeps department management informed of activities and/or significant problems.
She/he provides and maintains adequate information to verify or support financial records and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Department files, documents, records and reports are accurately prepared and maintained and functions are conducted in accordance within generally accepted guidelines and timeframes established.
As assigned, the incumbent may compile financial information and prepare various financial reports, statements, forms and logs. He/she maintain files including general ledger journal vouchers, accounts payable documentation and other miscellaneous filings. He/she keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, prints daily accounts payable checks and prepares them for mailing; prepares correspondence and answer inquiries regarding accounting information as required.
The position is responsible for handling employee expense reporting reimbursements. She/he ensures compliance by verifying documentation and following-up with staff on missing or incomplete submissions for payment. She/he reports habitual abusers of the policy to the EVP of Finance.
Reviews, audits, and processes participant incentive payments, to meet program schedules, mails checks to program staff.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he/she is free to move about at will.
In the course of performing this position the incumbent spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 20 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
This position may be required to operate any or all of the following: telephone, general office equipment including copy and fax machines, calculator, personal computer and related printers. He/she must be able to sit for prolonged periods and work non-traditional hours when needed
The incumbent in this position must be able to: read and interpret documents, perform highly detailed work, perform mathematical functions, prepare written reports/communication, perform analytical reasoning, handle multiple, concurrent tasks.

v High School Diploma and (2) or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience generally requires one year of experience in an accounting setting to become familiar with the accepted accounting practices involved in maintaining financial records, reconciling accounting information and preparing financial statements or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
