Our client is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to fill a newly created position in their Tampa, FL office. This position will supervise a staff of an estimated 4 or 5 Trade Accountants responsible for bill backs for client samples and food show related costs.
This position is responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day activities of Trade Spend Accounting for their 5 divisions. You will provide leadership, coaching and direction to staff Trade Accountants to ensure timely & accurate reporting of Trade Spend.
Key to this role is compliance with policies and procedure, ensuring receivables and payments are properly approved, recorded and reported. You will ensure invoices are reviewed and corrective action initiated when issues arise.
Supervising a team of Staff Accountants, which includes training, coaching, career development and performance reviews
Reviewing and approving Accounts Payable invoices for coding and payment accuracies
Obtaining an understanding of all Client/Distributor requirements for bill backs
Reviewing and posting invoices to NaVision(accounting software)
Ensuring proper approval/documentation has been obtained prior to invoicing
Ensuring timely billing
Reviewing Distributor statements for past due invoices
Monitoring and resolving issues with un-applied deductions
Monitoring, escalating and promoting awareness with all levels of the Sales organization on invoicing and spending trends
Reconciling the receivable accounts and monitor the aging of the receivables
Assisting in consolidation of Trade Accounting to the Corporate office
Maintaining strict adherence to our corporate reporting policies
Process improvements and divisional consistency
Assisting in problem solving matters as they arise
Desired Skills & Experience
A minimum of 1 to 3 years of Accounting and Supervisory experience is preferred.
Post-secondary degree or diploma in related discipline
Sound knowledge of accounting principles and problem analysis
Proven ability to motivate, develop, and challenge others to deliver their personal best
Well organized, with prioritization skills allowing the management of multiple competing tasks
Strong and effective communication skills with all levels of the organization
Strong computer and system skills preferably in Excel
Experience working in multi-site, multi-state operations
