PROMOTIONAL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE
POSITION: ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR
SITE/ASSIGNMENT: THIS IS TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST. THIS IS AN EIGHT (8) HOURS PER DAY, 261 DAYS PER YEAR POSITION.

SALARY: *RANGE 27M $61,125.16 - $74,298.02 (pending Personnel Commission approval)
Under the direction of the Director of Fiscal Services, the Accounting Supervisor assists in the planning, organization and supervision of the fiscal services office and staff including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable.
Minimum Qualifications Required to Apply:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, three to five years experience in a school district environment and one-year of supervisory experience.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
A valid California Driver's License and proof of insurability by the District's insurance carrier. Possession of a Notary License or willingness to obtain it after employment is preferred, but not required.
Plans, organizes, and supervises the fiscal services activities and staff. E
Analyzes and prepares specialized financial and statistical reports to be used by District administrators, auditors and Local/State/Federal Agencies. E
Maintains the District's revolving fund. E
Plans, organizes, and supervises the mandated cost, medical, E-rate, and Cal-card reimbursement programs. E
Reviews and approves the release of payroll, benefits, and other disbursement of funds. E
Assists with salary and other computations and projections for budget development. E
Interprets the California School Accounting Manual, California Education Codes, new legislation, District Policies, Audit compliance, and Federal and State payroll regulations. E
Verifies data processing input and output data for accuracy and completeness.
Supervises and participates in the development of procedures for the fiscal services office. E
Responsible for the hiring, training, and evaluation of the work performances of assigned staff. E
Provides and assists in training concerning new procedures for new and current employees. E
Assists the Director of Fiscal Services with accounting related work as required. E
Maintains and supervises the retention and destruction of records and activities. E
Participates in the general ledger reconciliation with the COE as needed. E
Prepares or assists in the preparation of State Annual Reports. E
Participates in District committees and meetings upon request.
Participate in the development of procedures as warranted.
Participates in workshops and conferences of professional organizations to maintain and improve required skills.
Attends staff meetings as required.
Maintains and fosters cooperative working relationships between fiscal services staff and with other sites and departments.
