Your challenge

To meet and exceed your internal customers’ needs by delivering a quality service, with “sense and simplicity”, in financial services. Based in the Finance Operations organization you will be part of a team that provides financial, administrative and clerical services to all Philips businesses. In this role you will be a liaison between the Philips business site in Baldwin Park, CA and the Andover, MA based North American Financial Operations process owner.

Your responsibilities

As Accounts Payable Accountant you will perform a range of professional accounting activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all financial entry postings, reconciliations, processing, and reporting associated with accounts payable. Execute daily activities effectively and efficiently in compliance with Philip’s internal control environment, SOX controls and audit standards. Receive and verify invoices for goods and services. Escalate and route invoicing exceptions for resolution. Verify compliance of transactions. Verify approvals and account coding. Process invoices for payment. Manage the weekly check run and related mailings. Resolve queries and requests from vendors and internal business customers. Assist with accounts payable related accruals, IRS 1099 processing, and escheatment activities.

We are looking for

Bachelor’s Degree (concentration in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred) or equivalent years of experience

2 - 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance

1 - 2 years progressive experience using MAS90/MAS200 preferred

Working knowledge of accounting principles and experience with computerized financial systems

Must have strong analytical/problem solving skills

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment particularly at month-end and year-end

Knowledge MS Office Applications, knowledge of spreadsheet software with expertise in Excel and Pivot Tables

Willingness to travel, as necessary
