SurveyMonkey is seeking for an AP Accountant. The AP Accountant will have a number of responsibilities that will include full cycle of AP function, journal entries and various balance sheet accounts reconciliations. The AP Accountant will also be actively involved in the Company’s month and year end closing processes.
Full cycle of Accounts Payable:
Code invoices and process employee expense reports into the NetSuite accounting system
Obtain proper approval of invoices/purchase orders per Company’s policies and procedures
Process and distribute payments/checks to vendors/employees
Prepare annual tax filing Form 1099
Make inquiries of vendors to resolve invoicing issues
Maintain vendor files and W-9s
Prepare wires for various international currencies as needed
Maintain and monitor contract expiration dates
Read, interpret and analyze contracts as needed
2. General Ledger function:
Assist with month and year-end closing
Maintain General Ledger and record journal entries for selected accounts
Balance sheet account reconciliations for selected accounts
Accounting records maintenance (documentation, copies, filing, etc)
Handle special projects and provide back-up support as needed for finance/accounting team
Bachelor ‘s degree in Accounting
Two years or more of AP and/or general ledger accounting experience is required
Good understanding of application and practice of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Team player and has ability to work independently
Detail oriented and excellent organization and analytical skills
Ability to be proactive and identify accounting issues and identify areas for improvement (i.e. missing information, inconsistencies with contracts et al)
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with automated accounting systems and their application to accounting functions
Experience with NetSuite a significant plus
