Accounts Payable Coordinator
Heinz North America is seeking a candidate who will be responsible for effectively accomplishing various tasks within the Accounts Payable department including; approval verification, processing and payment of invoices into various automated AP systems in accordance with internal policies and procedures and cash management goals. Responsibilities also include maintaining a proactive relationship with vendors to ensure that financial obligations between the vendor and Heinz are met in a timely manner.
Other duties include: Check verification, filing and retrieval, as well as other supporting AP clerical tasks. Prioritizing and inputting invoices for utilities, freight, storage, etc. into automated AP systems focusing on payment scheduling to obtain available discounts and to maximize cash flow, verifying approval levels to ensure authorization for payment of invoices, resolving invoice discrepancies with suppliers and various internal customers such as invalid pricing, items on hold, invalid approvals, etc. Verify activity prior to payment to ensure accuracy of amount, payee information and potential duplicity by comparing to invoice documentation
Who will be successful in this role?
Successful candidate will have a bachelor degree with emphasis in Business Administration or Accounting plus at least 1-year business experience or at least 2 years business experience focused on AP and automated accounting systems.
Specific skills include:
' Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access; PowerPoint)
' Strong organizational, planning and problem solving ability
' Ability to analyze and resolve issues to completion under high pressure, high volume situations
' Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
' Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
' Knowledge of AP systems or other similar software. Knowledge of PC software systems; general accounting practices; HNA & WHQ financial policies and procedures.
