SUMMARY : The part-time Accounts Payable Specialist will compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Codes and records all vendor invoices in appropriate software
Ensures timely disbursement of funds and payment of invoices
Compiles information and prepares spreadsheets to assist Controller and outside auditors in internal and external statement preparations
Records and reconciles bank and credit card statements
Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Excellent mathematical skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office such as outlook, word, and especially Excel
Superior time management and strong attention to detail
Proficient in use of Quickbooks
Excellent typing and 10 key skills
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or
Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Fluent verbal and written English
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Individuals will regularly spend the majority of the day sitting in an office chair, ergonomically viewing a computer screen, typing on a keyboard, and operating a mouse. Responsibilities may require walking within the office to utilize administrative materials and to coordinate with co-workers. This position will require some reaching or lifting as necessary to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. Individual must be able to lift up to 20 pounds. Frequent inbound and outbound telephone communication is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The office contains ambient room temperatures, moderate noise levels, overhead lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
