Accounts Receivable Manager

Purpose of the Position:

Consulate Health Care is seeking an experienced AR Manager to support the organization’s Billing Services Department. The primary function of this position is to be responsible for the collection of facility receivables and meeting corporate goals for number of days outstanding. Supervises AR Billing Specialist.

Department Assigned: Billing Services
FLSA Classification: Exempt (salaried)

Responsibilities :
  • Review accounts receivable aging monthly.
  • Review tracking logs weekly for timely receipt of information required to bill.
  • Review of billing logs to ensure that all third party claims are billed.
  • Compare billing logs to checks to be received to ensure collection of third party claims.
  • Review accounts receivable collection worksheets monthly and counsel facility office managers delinquent accounts.
  • Assist facility office managers with complex accounts receivables questions regarding billing and account reconciliations.
  • Review Medicare/Medicaid and Managed Care claims monthly before submission to intermediary.
  • Prepare average number of days in accounts receivable monthly.
  • Troubleshoot program problems with software company in the accounts receivable and billing areas.
  • Provide current information to keep accounts receivable, billing and collection sections of business office police and procedure manual up to date.
  • Attendance required at all meetings at the discretion of your Director.
  • Must be computer literate, excellent working knowledge of all pertinent software.
  • Timely information reporting.
  • Must stay in compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • Works in office areas.
  • Moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Works beyond normal working hours, weekends and holidays and on other shifts/positions as necessary.
  • Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Additional working hours as required.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.



Accounts Receivable Manager
Education/Experience :
  • Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must possess four (4) years experience in multi-state, multi-company organization.
  • Must have, as a minimum, five (5) years experience in bookkeeping or accounting practices. Experience in health care accounting preferred but not required.
  • Must possess a minimum of one (1) year of third party billing experience.
  • Must have experience with Excel and Microsoft Word programs.
  • Must possess knowledge of and demonstrated skill with the pertinent billing software.

Specific Requirements:

  • Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as this position requires interaction with professional of all levels inside and outside of the company.
  • Excellent customer service skills working with our vendors and facilities.
  • Must have excellent PC skills required.
  • Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
