This highly visible role reports to the Assistant Controller.

Overall responsibility for accurate and timely invoicing of complex professional services contracts
Partner with key owners of client contracts on billing, terms, etc.
Partner with PM’s on timing of project deliverables related to billing.
Assure timely collection of monies due in alignment with contractual agreements.
Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly.
Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures.
Owner of A/R module within ERP system.
Interface with internal and external clients in ways that support and uphold Synapse business philosophy.
Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustment.
Increase efficiencies and monitor staffing need to responsibly grow the Accounts Receivable function.
Work with senior finance leadership to establish, implement and monitor credit policy and
Monitor and report on deviations from credit standards.
Conduct credit checks and establish and manage limits.
Collaborate and share information within Finance and with key business stakeholders for effective planning and reporting.

7-10 years experience in A/R, credit and collections.
At least 3 years experience leading, inspiring and managing teams.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
Experience in the Accounts Receivable function in a dynamic professional services organization is a strong plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and understanding of D&B or other credit agency reporting is required.
Experience with ERP systems such as Great Plains, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP or similar ERP. Experience implementing or transitioning ERP system is a plus.
Knowledge of GAAP in area of responsibility.
MS Suite of products with advanced Excel skills required.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
