Accounts Receivable Specialist
Perform all responsibilities related to Accounts Receivable ensuring the billing and collections are performed in a timely manner. Prepare various accounting duties such as journal entries and reconciliations. Assist in various responsibilities for Accounts Payable and Payroll as support when needed. Works under general direction while exercising a fair degree of discretionary judgment. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Coordinate with sales people in preparing invoices.
Send invoices to customers either directly or through outsourced service websites.
Follow up with customers to ensure they received the invoices and there are no issues prior to due date.
Follow up with customers prior to and after the due date on outstanding invoices
Project future cash flow and input collection status notes on cash flow schedule.
Coordinate with the assigned sales people to address any issues to help ensure invoices are paid.
Prepare various reports to send to the sales groups to follow up on invoices not billed yet.
Review AR Aging reports and address any discrepancies.
Perform various accounting duties such as journal entries and reconciliations related to Accounts Receivable.
Answer help desk requests from sales teams and prepare job cost transfers.
Perform other ad hoc requests as needed.
Assist in various responsibilities for Accounts Payable and Payroll as support when needed.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field such as Business Administration or Accounting. One to two years of related accounts receivable/accounting experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word. Prior experience with Great Plains General Ledger system preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles a plus.
Ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to make decisions and exercise judgment.
Must demonstrate clear and effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside the department, across the organization, and with external vendors/customers. Requires the ability to resolve problems in a diplomatic manner.
