As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will work under the general supervision of the Accounts Receivable Manager and be involved in performing many different functions in the areas of insurance verification, claims submissions, posting payments and extensive follow up on all outstanding claims.
Responsibilities:
Insurance Verification
Review patient documentation from centers
Verifies insurance eligibility and coordinates benefits
Initiates and maintains the prior authorization and/or referral process when applicable
Creates, maintains and updates patient files and claims both electronic and hard copy
Claims Submissions and Payments
Prepares, generates and submits primary insurance claims at month end
Enters and follow-ups on all Medicare claims through electronic claims submission
Posts payments
Prepares, generates and submits secondary insurance claims
Generates and mail patient statements monthly
Collections
Extensive follow-up to resolve outstanding claims issues in excess of 45 days
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of billing experience, preferably most of that experience in the medical insurance industry.
The ideal candidate will have dialysis experience.
Medicare DDE is a plus.
