We are hiring an Activities Assistant to assist our Director with organized functions at our property in Gaithersburg, Falls Church, Crystal City and Rosslyn properties. This is a part-time position: 10-20 hours/week. You must be able to work Sundays and evening hours. (No benefits.) This is an entry level position: $9.00- $10/hour.
Duties of the role :
Order all food and equipment
Meet seminar speakers and set-up conference room for seminar
Set-up VCR and theater for movies
Set-up food and beverages for staff meetings
Direct activities; including setting up and breaking down events
Plan and supervise Sunday breakfasts
Conduct entertainment events (i.e., bingo, ice cream socials, picnics, etc.)
Delivery of flyers and monthly newsletters
Customer service experience and strong communication skills
Experience working with children is highly desirable
Catering and kitchen equipment experience helpful (i.e., stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker)
AV equipment experience helpful
Experience implementing event plans helpful
