The Activities Coordinator plans, implements and evaluates a variety of senior activities and programs which are meaningful, address a broad range of seniors’ functional needs, and reflect the interests and abilities of seniors age 50 to 100+ at the Leon Mann, Jr. Enrichment Center.


Plans and participates in Center activities and events; plans special, seasonal programs; coordinates assistance from volunteer organizations; decorates event halls; prepares annual recreation budget proposal; coordinates fundraisers; assists seniors with the participant registration process; oversees social media marketing; serves as receptionist as needed in absence of reception staff; assists with clerical duties as needed. .


Graduation 2-year college preferred, and 2 years experience in planning activities; experience with Microsoft Office and computer data entry & publishing design; prefer experience in recreation or event planning.


Considerable knowledge of the aging process, psychosocial aspects of aging, and understanding the needs of the older adult. Working knowledge of resources available in the community for older adults. Ability to use Microsoft Office, thorough knowledge of and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary and spelling, ability to plan and organize work, ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public, peers, senior adults, government agencies, and supervisors,


Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Must possess a North Carolina driver’s license.


Starting Salary: $11.00/hr Closing date: Open until filled
