To provide comprehensive Recreation/Activity Services and programs that meet the needs and interests of each resident.
Assist director to interview and assess all residents prior to the initial care plan conference; document information in the medical record, develop an individual recreation plan based on the assessment and participate in interdisciplinary Care plan meetings. Update assessments and plans as needed and required by state/federal regulations. Assist with the development of monthly recreation program calendars that reflect and meet the needs of facility residents. Communicate facility programs to residents, staff, family and volunteers. Assist to facility Volunteer Program. Maintain departmental documentation that reflects services provided and resident progress towards goals.
Communicate and coordinate the Therapeutic Recreation Services Department functions with other departments in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness. Attend and participate in department meetings.
Assist the residents in the organization and continued development of a Resident’s Council in conjunction with Social Services and the Administrator.
Conduct, attend and participate in orientation, training, in-service education activities and staff meetings.
Understand, comply with and promote all rules regarding resident’s rights; promotes positive relationships with residents, visitors and regulators, to include a professional appearance and attitude.
Participate in continuous Quality Improvement actives.
Other duties as assigned.
Must hold current C.N.A. license to be able to properly assist with dining room functions.
Must have prior patient activities program experience in a health care setting.
Have ability to read, write and follow oral/written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Must meet all local health regulations, and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry.
