Overall Purpose/Job Objective:
First line of contact for the Department, representing so in a professional manner expected by the University of Arkansas. Answer incoming calls and determine response of your ability to assist the caller or transfer to the appropriate party. Answering questions for visitors or callers regarding department information, campus or University information, course or advising information and related topics. Assisting faculty, PhD students and department personnel with various programs, projects, events or tasks throughout the year, as well as reserving and coordinating rooms for such events. May on occasion be required to run errands around the business college or other parts of campus. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining the department for cleanliness and supplies, clerical duties such as filing, making copies, scheduling, scanning, retrieving and sorting department mail, etc. The Administrative Aide, with the possible help of a work study, will provide back-up for the administrative staff.
