Responsibilities:
This is a Human Resources position responsible for providing overall HR generalist functions including onboarding new employees, promoting a positive working environment, ensuring compliance with all employment laws, policies and guidelines, and dealing with employee relations problems.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Excellent working knowledge of Human Resource Management principles and practices.
Ability to plan and organize work activities, analyze and disseminate information, and manage work time efficiently.
Ability to manage the pressures and stress associated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and employee relations issues.
Excellent computer skills and working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Office programs, SAP, and HRIS.

Essential Duties : (essential functions are in bold)
Interprets policy and guidelines, as well as consults with employees and managers on employee relations issues.
Invesitgates and assists in resolution of employee concerns/Ethics complaints, prepares documentation.
Creates training programs and other materials used in job fairs, new hire orientation & onboarding, open enrollment and other training or activities, as business needs dictate. Training may involve management and/or employees. Assist with training and support with HR & Benefit self-service portals.
Ensures compliance with Federal and State laws, and adherence to Company policies and guidelines that involve employees, including I-9, FMLA, Anti-Trust, Affirmative Action, Wage and Hour, etc.
Researches and determines response to all unemployment claims and is involved in all unemployment hearings.
Provides informed customer service from an HR standpoint to employees concerning all HR issues.
Ensures accurate preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as requested or required by SYSCO Operating Company, SYSCO Corporate or other agencies, in a timely manner.
Supports engagement, development, and positive work environment activities.
Assists Vice President with HR initiatives and related activities.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

High School diploma, or equivalent
2 years administrative experience in Human Resources.
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to accommodate the needs of associates working all shifts.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management; remain poised, professional and diplomatic under pressure.
Must have the ability to be detail oriented and balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
A demonstrated ability to plan and organize work activities; analyze and disseminate forms; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; identify and solve problems.
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Able to maintain a file system to include alphabetical, numerical, and chronological filing activities.
Must be able to proofread documents and make appropriate spelling and grammar corrections to documents written in English.
Must provide enthusiasm and creativity in problem solving along with flexibility and a desire to learn.
Must be committed to ethical conduct principles associated with the handling of confidential information/materials.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:
PHR Certification
FMLA/CFRA Administration
COBRA Administration

Physical Requirements:
This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs. of material, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry and calculator use, grasping, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments. The work is performed primarily indoors.
