Administrative Assistant, Kinesiology, Part-Time - Term Position/1 Year

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Kinesiology, performs a variety of administrative and staff support duties. The Administrative Assistant functions as the first line information resource for students, faculty and staff. The AA assists and directs visitors and resolves administrative problems and inquiries. The position composes, edits, and proof reads correspondence, reports, and a range of administrative documents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides administrative/secretarial support such as answering telephones, assisting visitors and resolving and/or referring a range of administrative problems and inquiries

Operates personal computer to compose and edit correspondence and/or memoranda; may prepare, transcribe, compose, type, edit and distribute agendas and/or meeting minutes

Schedules and coordinates meetings, events, interviews, appointments and/or other similar activities including travel and lodging arrangements, maintains calendars

Prepares or assists with the preparation of statistical and narrative reports; performs basic information gathering

Establishes, maintains and updates files, databases, records and/or other documents

Sorts, screens, reviews and distributes incoming and outgoing mail

Requisitions supplies, printing, maintenance and other services

Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:
H.S. Diploma; Associate's Degree preferred

2 years of Administrative experience
