Schedules patients for procedures ordered by referring physicians according to established guidelines.
Schedules sleep studies with the correct technologist personnel.
Responds to voicemails in a timely manner, prioritizing messages and consulting with appropriate parties, as necessary.
Obtains written orders from referring physicians.
Obtains referral for services to be rendered.
Processes insurance information with insurance company in accordance with policy guidelines.
Documents insurance guidelines and informs patient of additional requirements, if applicable.
Processes insurance eligibilities through electronic assistant device (WebMB,POS,NEHEN, etc) equipment.
Processes insurance referrals and authorization through phone, internet and POS equipment.
Confirms patients for appointments.
Maintains cancellations list with insurance requirements.
Maintains a medical record on all patients who have services rendered.
Uses medical terms and diagnoses correctly.
Organizes daily workload and completes tasks. Consistently notifies supervisor of incomplete daily assignments.
Demonstrates ability to pace self to adapt to fluctuating job demands.
Consistently consults with supervisor to prioritize workload when needed due to staff shortages or high level of activity.
Maintains patient log book with accurate information.
Maintains monthly billing information.
Processes physician interpretations to referring, primary and addition physicians.
Demonstrates a willingness to learn new procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to use all office equipment including computer programs.
Mails reminders and sleep study procedural information to scheduled patients.
Enters/modifies charges for sleep procedures.
Send confirmation letters and instructions to patients booked for sleep studies in timely and efficient fashion.
· A.S. medical secretary Science preferred.
· 1 year experience physician office and/or another clinical office environment.
· Experience with insurance authorization preferred.
· Excellent word processing, communication, and organizational skills.
