(.5 FTE, 17.5 hours/week, 12 months/year, benefits eligible, limited term for 2 years, salary grade 5)
The highly organized, detail oriented program assistant will support the work of the developing Institute for the Liberal Arts. He or she will provide administrative support with minimal supervision, including taking meeting minutes and managing budgets. He or she will assist with event coordination and facilitate faculty initiatives. The program assistant will also contribute to research and reporting in support of the work of the Institute for the Liberal Arts.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong problem solving and analytical abilities; and technological competence are required. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build successful relationships and to interact courteously and tactfully in all circumstances, are essential. A demonstrated ability to take initiative and an enthusiasm for learning are highly desirable. The incumbent will be expected to independently contribute ideas and creative solutions for improved ways of doing things, in order to meet goals of continuous improvement.
This position is well suited for someone with professional experience in an academic setting. High school diploma or equivalent required, college preferred. 3-5 years relevant experience required.
