The Field Administrative Assistant is responsible for complex administrative duties in support of the South Texas Ecosystem Project Office, Chaparral and Daughtrey WMAs, in the Wildlife Division. Work involves general administrative support work, monitoring budgets, preparing correspondence, using computer software, purchasing, property management, maintaining filing systems, and providing information to members of the public. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and exercise of independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division, and Branch Rules, regulations and procedures.

Qualification Guidelines:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education:Graduation from High School or GED. Experience:
One year experience performing administrative support duties Licensure:
Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid class “C” Texas driver’s license. NOTE: Retention of position contingent upon obtaining and maintaining license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of office procedures and administrative practices;
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
Skill in effective verbal and written communication;
Skill in providing quality customer service in a courteous and professional manner;
Skill in providing or coordinating customer service or information;
Skill in using MS Word, Excel and Outlook;
Skill in identifying, researching and compiling information;
Skill in meeting deadlines;
Ability to maintain budgets and expenditures and track multiple accounts;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and work-related contacts;
Ability to maintain flexibility and work with frequent interruptions, changing and multiple priorities;
Ability to work efficiently and in a dependable, organized and productive manner;
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

Additional Information:
Required to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday;
Required to travel with possible overnight stays;
Required to operate a State vehicle;
