CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is currently 8:30 am.

**Per Labor Agreement and/or Board Policy, this position is subject to six (6) days without pay (furlough) for the calendar years 2013.**
Under direction, responsible for assisting to maintain hardware and technology for Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH), including consultation with the Macomb County Information Technology Department, identifying needed equipment and software; assists in the maintenance and upgrading of MCCMH central and remote services, WAN and LAN network environment, and end user hardware and software; assists in the management of central and remote networking, hardware and software, user and server operating systems, Internet and mail access, MCCMH, Firewall and Security Administration; performs related duties as assigned.
Assists in the development of new technology solutions and computer systems.
Assists in the development of IT solutions for electronic communications between CMH and its contract providers.
Participates in consultations with the Macomb County Information Technology Department or issues of networking regarding shared technologies, such as IFAS.
Assists in the implementation and management of Remote Desktop deployment across the MCCMH system.
Performs Information Technology work tasks as assigned to ensure the technical support needs of the organization are met.
Assists in the MCCMH WAN and site LAN’s, including: the installation and maintenance of Windows Server operating systems, and the installation and management of Internet connectivity equipment, internet and e-mail connection, including server account setups and website filtering.
Assists in the management of MCCMH Server Farm and networking devices, including Central File Servers, Internet firewall, Web Server, Intranet Server, Mail servers, application and print servers.
Assists in the implementation and management of back up and disaster recovery for all hardware, data, and networking systems.
Assists in the management of Desktop Operating Systems, including upgrade, enhancement, problem resolution, hardware and software systems at the desktop level.
Monitors and maintains anti-virus protection systems.
Assists in management of software licensing.
Provides full back up for the Information Technology Network Administrator in his/her absence.
Operates an automobile while performing assigned job duties.
Comply with P.A. 390, as amended, known as the State's Emergency Management Act and the County’s Emergency Management resolution as well as all related plans, policies and procedures covered by these statutes.

Education, Training and Experience:
Possession of a high school diploma or a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test.
A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year experience in an environment of mixed operating systems and WAN/LAN applications is required, including experience in setup of switches, routers and servers.
Certification in CISCO and Windows networking is preferred.
Experience in networked environments at a management level is preferred.
Successful completion of the probationary period for the position of Administrative Assistant III.
Be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to function within a team-based setting.
Ability to handle assigned tasks responsibly with a level of independence.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County Departments and coordinate effectively within MCCMH.
Ability to meet deadlines under high-pressure situations.
Knowledge of Cisco and Windows networking environments.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and an operable insured automobile for authorized travel.
Ability to conduct oneself with tact and courtesy.
