This position requires an individual with a clerical background, preferably in a medical and/or legal environment, who is able to use that experience to track medical malpractice cases. This position supports the team in the completion of scanning, mailing, electronic filing, and/or projects as assigned. The Administrative Assistant, Legal will work closely with the team to ensure high-quality service and demonstrate a striving for excellence in administrative support.
Present weekly analysis of case status
Complete data entry and run reports using Access
Prepare professional case review panel packets
Check the status of active cases daily
Ensure accuracy of all official outgoing correspondence through detailed quality checks and data verification
Maintain electronic filing system
Participate collaboratively in team meetings as well as maintaining data repositories
Document processes and follow-up accordingly.
It requires an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
Proficient in Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Knowledge of secretarial techniques.
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge and experience in the medical/legal process.
Experience maintaining an Access Database
Prior experience working in a legal office or the Federal Government
Experience in Military Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps, preferred
