This position is responsible for all aspects of administrative assistance with day to day responsibility for The
National
Catastrophe
Center
including tasks involving comprehensive and diversified administrative support by applying in-depth knowledge of department policy and organization.

Advanced communication skills including the ability to maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with
customers and with fellow employee, handle calls in a timely manner and ability to initiate oral and written responses to routine inquiries

Ability to prioritize work and organize own time in fast-paced, team-oriented environment
·
Ability to complete professional documents utilizing basic grammar, spelling and format skills, including accurate preparation of presentations, memoranda, report summaries, meeting agendas and employee communications
·
Available to handle unusual situations and confidential information
·
Knowledge of major department/business unit functions and policy
·
Solve problems related to specific tasks with minimal supervision
·
Identify inconsistencies in routine work and initiate and recommend corrective action within the work group
Work on a variety of special projects as needed with multi-tasking as necessary. Ability to take initiative, use good judgment, understand deadlines and carry multiple projects through to completion with an ability to work independently under general direction, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.

Qualifications
A
dvanced knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel, Internet, and other web-based applications
High School education or GED equivalent required
Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
