As one of a three-person support team for the Provost's Office, the Administrative Assistant reports to the Chief of Staff and is responsible for providing support for the general functions of the Provost's Office and specialized support for matters relating to academic programmatic planning. The individual coordinates with other members of the team to receive visitors, plan and execute events, and communicate with University departments and offices about Waul House activities and needs. The individual also supervises two-three workstudy assistants. The individual also supports four administrators in planning and preparing for meetings; calendaring; special initiatives, academic program reviews, and other activities. In addition, the individual oversees, designs, manages, and updates all of the Provost's Office web pages, and works directly with the Director, Business Services to process transactions.


A Bachelor's degree is preferred and a minimum of 2-3 years of office experience required. Must have superior interpersonal communications skills; excellent organizational skills; strong customer service orientation; willingness to take initiative; ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately; ability to problem-solve independently and enlist assistance appropriately; ability to handle multiple tasks with strict deadlines; sensitivity to and respect for confidential information; and an ability to prioritize and maintain focus in an environment with many interruptions. Attention to detail is absolutely essential. Must be able to work as a team member. A friendly, helpful, professional, and responsible presence, and a sense of humor are critical. Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office Suite is required; knowledge of Collage and DayCQ, and PeopleSoft Financials is highly preferred.
