The Administrative Assistant position is located in

Cordova, TN

. The person in this role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Cargill AgHorizons Midsouth Farm Service Group Leadership Team as well as Human Resource Administration for the Farm Service Group located in Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri.

Duties include handling confidential material and assisting with day-to-day workflow including: resolving scheduling conflicts, handling agendas for meetings, travel arrangements, phones, scheduling large and small meetings, reconciling charge cards, payroll input, new employee orientation/on-boarding, etc.

This person will interact with a broad spectrum of Cargill employees and external contacts. The person in this position must be highly organized, a self-starter with strong initiative and follow through skills. This person will add value as a member of the team through strong administrative, organizational, technical, and communication skills.

Principal Accountabilities:
50% - Administrative Support: Handling confidential materials, e-mail, voicemail, copying, filing, faxing, and correspondence. Develop and type correspondence including internal and external emails, letters and presentations using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

20% - Payroll maintenance and management for all non-exempt employees. Includes keying transfers, promotions, pay increases and running reports in PeopleSoft as needed. New Hire on-boarding and orientation for all new employees. This will include scheduling background checks, drug screenings, completing first day paperwork and maintaining files.

10% -Travel/Meetings: Make travel arrangements, arrange meeting venues, catering, pre-work, etc., schedule conference calls, meetings rooms, and attend meetings, if necessary.

5% - Communication: Answer and handle phone calls, emails, etc. for managers.

5% - Assist with developing and distributing monthly and quarterly reports for leadership team.


High school diploma or equivalent

A minimum of 5 years of administrative support experience

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Excellent organizational skills, including priority setting and ability to handle various projects at the same time

Self-initiative, demonstrated proactive behavior

Ability to work independently and work as team player

Excellent grammar, proofing and written communication skills

Strong decision making and problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals, both internal and external

Strong sense of urgency - ability to meet tight deadlines

Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing work environment.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office, including: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strong attention to detail and follow-up
