CURRENT HOURS AND STARTING TIME: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting time for this position is currently 8:30 a.m.
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: Treasurer
**Per Labor Agreement and/or Board Policy, this position is subject to six (6) days without pay (furlough) for the calendar year 2013.**
Under the supervision of and at the pleasure of the Treasurer, provides administrative support utilizing a high degree of independent and confidential judgment; compiles and prepares confidential reports, correspondence and other documents; attends meetings on behalf of the Treasurer; provides liaison activities with governmental officials, property owners and others; sets up meetings and coordinates the appointment calendar for the Treasurer; performs related duties as assigned.
Performs administrative support for the Treasurer of a confidential nature, utilizing a high degree of independent judgment.
Compiles and prepares confidential reports, correspondence and other documents.
Attends meetings on behalf of the Treasurer.
Provides liaison activities with governmental officials, property owners and others.
Coordinates the appointment calendar for the Treasurer.
Responds to requests for information regarding departmental operations as directed by the Treasurer.
Serves on interview panels to select and fill positions in the Treasurer’s Office.
Ensures Treasurer’s Office compliance with Human Resources and Labor Relations processes and standards.
Operates an automobile while performing assigned job duties.
Comply with P.A. 390, as amended, known as the State's Emergency Management Act and theCounty’s Emergency Management resolution as well as all related plans, policies and procedures covered by these statutes.

Education, Training and Experience:
Possession of a high school diploma or a certificate of successful completion of the General Educational Development Test, preferably supplemented with business school or college courses in general business.
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively more responsible general business or administrative support experience.
Successful completion of the probationary period for the position of Administrative Assistant.
Be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel and other computer applications.
Ability to maintain complex and confidential records and prepare reports from such records.
Ability to follow complex written and oral directions.
Ability to make decisions in accordance with laws, ordinances, regulations and established policies and procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, outside agencies and the public.
Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and an operable insured automobile for authorized travel.
Possession of an operable automobile for authorized departmental travel.
Ability to conduct oneself with tact and courtesy.
