The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. (RFMH) is currently seeking to fill one (1) full- time, salaried position to serve as Administrative Assistant for Project Hope. Project Hope is a program that provides free crisis counseling services to persons, families, and groups most affected by Hurricane Sandy. Project Hope is funded by the Federal Emergency and Management Agency (FEMA) and is administered by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in conjunction with the RFMH. This position will be located in NYC.

DUTIES

Under the direction of Project Managers incumbent will provide clerical and administrative support to professional staff.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in report, documentation and memorandum preparation and word processing as well as drafting routine correspondence.
  • Set up filing systems and maintain records related to the project.
  • Schedule and arrange meetings.
  • Make travel arrangements for project staff.
  • Schedule conference calls, video conferencing and "webinars".
  • Assist in the field during training or other group sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
  • An Associate degree and a minimum of two years relevant experience working in a professional office environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Solid organizational and communication skills
  • Fluency in the English language
  • The ability to work independently.
  • The ability to work with abbreviated deadlines and under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in the human services field for government or a not-for-profit agency in the administration of a grant.
