DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:
This position offers a variety of administrative functions in a fast paced environment. The primary responsibilities include providing support to the Slot Manager in all areas of the operation. Our environment is fast-paced, demanding, and has changing needs and priorities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and Access, highly self-motivated, pro-active, organized, enjoys constant challenge and is able to work well individually or as part of a team. To be successful you must be detail oriented, able to prioritize workloads and accustomed to working with confidential information.

DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and maintains highly confidential files and records.
  • Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries from internal and external guests.
  • Record messages and distribute to appropriate individuals for follow-up.
  • Resolve customer complaints to the benefit of the guest and casino.
  • Instill and demonstrate a calm, organized approach in all situations.
  • Assist high level clients and fellow team members by responding to day-to-day requests.
  • Handle manager's travel reservations and arrangements.
  • Identify opportunities to perform functions more efficiently and/or effectively.
  • Maintain manager's calendar and schedule appointments including meetings.
  • Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers and employees.
  • Encourage and enable people to be autonomous and to use good judgment and common sense.
  • Foster collaboration both with members of your work team and other colleagues.
  • Assist managers with special projects.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fax and photocopy documents as instructed.
  • Recognize priority services for our tiered guests.
  • Assist in review of departmental expenditures to ensure they are maintained within defined parameters.
  • Coordinate the proper hiring, firing and development of all division personnel.
  • Assist in development of work schedules to ensure staffing guidelines are followed and all business needs are covered.
  • Provide support in creation of annual expense budgets under the supervision, guidance and approval of the Slot Manager.
  • Submit required reports to the Slot Manager and to other division management as requested.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly and caring attitude with guests, colleagues and casino personnel.
  • Maintain a professional appearance reflective of the casino image and conduct behavior in a mature and professional manner.
  • May be required to assist other departments within the division.
  • Works closely with all other departments.
  • Assures safety and security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Serves as liaison between manager and subordinates, other managers, other departmental staff and the public.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Some college preferred.
  • One year experience in providing administrative support required
  • Advanced in MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and Access. Proficient in MS Office programs.
  • Highly motivated, energetic and quality oriented individual with demonstrated initiative for achievement with little direction.
  • Excellent time management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication ability and skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and poised under pressure.
  • Must be a team player but be able to work well independently.
  • Effective listener and communicator with excellent tasking skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance reflective of the casino image and conduct behavior in a mature and professional manner.
  • Required work schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Certificates, Licenses and Registration:
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Soboba Casino Tribal Gaming license.
  • Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
