THE US GRANT, a Luxury Collection hotel, is an iconic building in the heart of the historic and lively Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego. Built in 1910 as the most luxurious hotel in San Diego, THE US GRANT was restored to its original glory with an extensive makeover in 2006. Department

The Sales and Marketing department is located in THE US GRANT Executive Office. THE US GRANT-based team interfaces daily with the Multi-Property Sales and Catering teams to drive business to the hotel. The majority of Starwood San Diego's Catering team is located at THE US GRANT, which has over 30,000 square feet of space in which to hold the events of our guests' dreams.

This position will also work with the Accounting department. The Accounting department works closely with other departments to make sure the legendary US Grant operates efficiently and within budget. Responsibilities vary in the Accounting office but all ambassadors in the department must communicate with managers and associates regarding revenues, expenses, labor, and proper coding of all of the aforementioned to ensure an accurate P&L statement.

Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE
Support the Executive Office by giving secretarial support to the General Manager and Hotel Manager, greet and assist visitors, answer incoming calls to the Executive Office and handle guest complaints that come to the office. Also to provide assistance to the Accounting department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
25% - Perform clerical duties such as typing correspondence and reports, filing, and answering phones. Maintain and upkeep various filing systems, including vendor information where necessary.

25% - Receive visitors and guests. Answer questions and concerns; follow through either to resolution or refer to the appropriate manager.

15% - Assure all incoming and outgoing correspondence is typed, received, mailed and/or filed as required.

15% - Assist managers in scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements for business trips as required.

10% - Maintain a professional working environment and attitude.

10% - Maintain and upkeep of all office equipment.
