This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Central Office, 2414 Bull Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
Process the daily admissions and Discharges documents for assigned facilities checking for re-admissions, identifying those whose files were microfilm imaged. Review for accuracy the material sent by the facilities; compare admission papers with A/D/T Report to ensure accuracy of of name, date of birth, social security number, patient ID#, etc. Organize and maintain all current folders in assigned area,creating or upgrade folders as necessary following policy and procedure guidelines. Separate and deliver new admission folders to the appropriate staff. Monitor checked out folders for proper return placement. Pull folders for action upon receiving notice of client death. Ensure proper filing of all correspondence. Maintain HIPAA standards for all action regarding confidentially of client PHI. Prepare older files for archiving and or destruction based on currenty policy.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
State Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Agency Requirements: Same as State's requirements.
