Provide administrative support in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction; principal administrative support for the internship, outreach, service learning and industry relations, as well as the Director and Associate Director. Administer and manage internship contracts and provide assistance with the coordination of service learning activities; maintain the MLSoC website; act as MLSoC representative to faculty, students and visitors; responsible for MLSoC financial deposits; and provide event planning assistance. Assists the Director of Myers-Lawson School of Construction with marketing and publication materials. Reports to the Associate Director and coordinates actions with other MLSoC faculty and staff.
Associates degree or higher in Office Administration or related field and/or equivalent education and training. Experience in an office setting and demonstrating knowledge of general office practices and procedures; managing confidential files and materials; and creating and handling written and electronic professional correspondence and documents. Excellent organizational time management and communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, e-mail and calendar managers, and web-site maintenance. Ability to interpret and communicate policies and procedures; work independently with a high degree of accuracy with minimal direction or supervision; exercise initiative; maintain confidentiality; communicate effectively, and establish and maintain good working relationships with industry, faculty, staff and students.
Preference given for the CAP or CPS certification and work experience in an academic setting in a higher education institution and website maintenance.
