The Office of Institutional Research at Skidmore College invites applications for a part-time (.5 FTE), 12-month Administrative Assistant for Institutional Research & Assessment. The Assistant provides support to the office but also leads certain tasks. A diverse range of specific tasks are performed by the Assistant including, but not limited to: completing publisher guide book and external surveys (e.g., US News, Princeton Review, NYS Dept of Education, etc); administering the course evaluation process; assisting with internal data requests; assisting with the administration of surveys to Skidmore students, alumni, faculty, etc.; assisting with assessment initiatives; and providing general clerical assistance for budget and website maintenance, etc.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a concern for accuracy and detail; be able to learn processes and procedures quickly; communicate clearly, professionally, and consistently; observe deadlines; and respect and uphold confidentiality regulations.
Associate Degree or extensive work experience in a higher education setting (3+ years). Strong technical skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Word) at the intermediate to advanced level, manipulate spreadsheets, use email applications, manage databases, etc. Must demonstrate a concern for accuracy and detail, and must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and be able to manage several projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks that are deadline driven. Must show an ability to work independently and use good judgment in decision-making and perform all tasks in a confidential manner and is expected to work collaboratively in a team environment with a good deal of flexibility.
