Performs a variety of functions to support coordination of patient care. Greets and directs patients, families and other visitors according to established clinic flow. Makes a positive first impression on any person utilizing Radiation Oncology services whether on the phone or in person.
Assists physicians and other clinic staff with scheduling appointments and diagnostic testing procedures as well as, other administrative support functions. Performs patient registration process; assisting patients in completing all necessary forms, obtaining demographic and insurance information for patients and verifying insurance coverage. Obtains insurance pre-authorization for diagnostic testing procedures. Process patient charts to ensure timely and complete medical records. Answers telephone and places reminder calls for patients.
Previous AA/Patient Service experience.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of people in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and human relations/customer service skills. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and with a high degree of diplomacy and tact. Will need to work independently and with co-workers in a team effort to service our patients with excellence. Strong organization skills with an ability to multi-task. Must be open minded to process improvement with ability to create and follow standard work. Proficiency in using computer applications including Microsoft Office. Experience with basic office equipment. Ability to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 7 AM and 5:00 PM, M-F.
