The student interest administrative coordinator supports the work of the AAFP to increase student interest in family medicine by providing administrative and logistical support to the FMIG Network and its programs, projects, and initiatives and supporting the activities of the student interest department. Duties include collection and processing of annual grant and award applications; data entry of annual surveys; preparation of materials for conference and exhibit programming throughout the year; distribution and maintenance of inventory of promotional and educational materials; preparation of mailings and special promotions, logistical support of student interest meetings, events, and workshops; recording secretary duties including taking minutes and preparing reports for internal and external meetings, and general administrative support of student interest initiatives including maintenance of contact lists, Listservs, and reprints. This position serves and communicates regularly with medical students, faculty, AAFP state chapter staff, and other stakeholders directly and on behalf of other staff. No travel required. PART-TIME POSITION / 18.75 HOURS PER WEEK

Required Skills

Required Experience

Education beyond high school or through equivalent work experience plus a minimum of two years related work experience. Strong administrative skills including data entry; report preparation; recording secretary duties which include agenda preparation, taking minutes, and logistical support of in-person meetings and webinars. Strong computer skills, general clerical skills, and good communication and interpersonal skills needed. Must thrive in an environment with multiple projects in process simultaneously and have a strong customer service ethic.
