Under the direction of the Projects & Communications Manager, the Administration Intern is responsible for conducting research, drafting correspondences, assisting with communication activities and completing special assignments and project activities for various county divisions. This is a temporary position (2-4 months), 24-40 hours per week, flexible around academic schedule.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Administrative intern may be assigned some of the essential duties and responsibilities as follows:
• Assists the Projects & Communications Manager with the completion of special assignments and projects for various county divisions.
• Analyzes and provides quality control to include recommendations for internal workload indicators and other electronic data.
• Conducts research on various topics.
• Assists with communication activities including drafting correspondences.
• Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Urban and Regional Studies or a related field, knowledge of local government operations and excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled in Graduate School and who have an interest in serving in local government.
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS:
Applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates will be invited to the scored oral examination (interview) and any required performance/ability tests required to demonstrate proficiency for the position. The Finalist will be subject to a background and criminal history check.
