Responsible for assisting with online communications such as processing recruitment and marketing messages to meet diverse student recruitment goals, highlight the college programs and experts to broad and specific audiences; modifies messages that position the college as a great choice; interacts with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public.

Essential Functions

70% - Provides general office support, assists with the College's online messages to reinforce strong identity through various media, emphasis on web communications
20% - Creates reports, documents and other items for external and internal distribution
10% - Supports other duties and functions within the College Advancement unit such as project deadline coordination, production of monthly newsletters, college wide events among other duties

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with standard office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Effective communication skills, using AP Style and proper English grammar, vocabulary and spelling
  • Experience with various computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience involving coordination of diverse activities and high volume public contact
Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and/or experience related to this position such as Journalism, English or Communications
  • Experience in web and new media communication
  • Experience uploading and tracking successful online communications campaigns, promotions and content
  • Experience with content management systems such as Blogger, Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal
  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certification and/or extensive experience in Microsoft Office
Special Working Conditions

May be required to lift up to 50lbs.; may be required to work evenings and/or weekends; may require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen; will be required to travel to off-site locations or be assigned to any/all MCCCD/GCC locations; must have a valid Arizona Class D Driver's license; must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
