Perform a variety of advanced secretarial and administrative duties.
Additional Position Summary Details:
The primary purpose of the position is to assist with the management and implementation of the administrative functions and responsibilities of the School of Human Ecology. The major responsibilities for the person in this position will be course scheduling and assistance with registering students; collecting and filing syllabi and exams; assisting with preparing accreditation and other reports; communicating with the general public, alumni, and others who call or visit the office; managing clerical aspects of the job like correspondence, filing, copying, mail, etc; assisting with the unit's webpage development and maintenance; providing clerical support to faculty in Buildings 211 and 212 and to the Director of Undergraduate Programs, and assisting with other shared departmental tasks such as financial and personnel as needed.

Minimum Education Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; three or more months of post-secondary education (additional experience may be substituted for some of the education requirement)
Minimum Experience Required:
Three or more years of secretarial experience (working half time or more)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills; proficiency with PC computers and Microsoft Office Applications software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; working knowledge of email applications; evidence of strong work ethic and professionalism; ability to ensure confidentiality; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of BANNER, Crystal Reports, and Quicken, Demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least three years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or competition of a two-year secretarial science or business administrative program with one year of experience as described above; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience working at a university is preferred.
