The mission of the Forestry Division is to manage and reduce wildfire risk to Arizona's communities, and
wild land areas; and provide forest resource stewardship through strategic implementation of forest health policies and cooperative forestry assistance programs. The Forestry Division provides for the prevention and suppression of wildfires on more than 22 million acres of state and private lands. They are currently looking for an Administrative Services Officer 2 to join their team!
This position acts as the Financial Administrator in the absence of the Administrator, providing oversight to the accounts payable functions, payroll and travel tasks for fire programs. Monitors the budget, revenue and expenses, establishing the accounting structure, reviewing and approving claims for accuracy. Analyzing the budget for it's impact and possible future funding for a variety of Forestry programs. Creating and maintaining reports and spreadsheets for all primary responsibilities.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Principles and procedures of government organizations; supervisory processes, principles and procedures of budgeting and fiscal control; budgetary processes for appropriations, grants and emergency funding; grant application and monitoring.
Analyzing fiscal and budget processes for accuracy; solve complex problems; management, communication and writing effectively; development and maintain a variety of accounting reports using complex software applications.
Review and approve with accuracy, Communicate directives effectively and professionally. Retain and manage a cohesive working environment for fiscal staff and office personnel. Ability to manage complex fiscal programs.
Prefer a college degree in accounting, public administration or related field. Prefer extensive Excel and Access Database experience.
**Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment.
