About the Position:
This position is located with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, Operations Division, Revetment Section. The duty station would be at Ensley Engineer Yard

Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is NOT required

Must be a QUALIFIED typist

DUTIES:
Types a variety of correspondence, reports etc., using automated equipment and a variety of software programs. Prepares travel orders and travel vouchers for all supported employees, prepares advances when necessary, makes arrangements for government usage, and initiates all airplane, hotel, and rental car reservations; prepares correspondence for employees requesting advanced annual and sick leave; reconciles discrepancies in leave and overtime payment, and coordinates with Finance and Accounting or the Human Resources Office when necessary. Incumbent performs timekeeping and related duties, using an automated reporting system, which is linked to the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System; insures labor charges are appropriately assessed to projects currently being worked on. Prepares required documentation to order or requisition items thru the District Contracting Division.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Specialized experience: To Qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or have 4 years of education above high school . Specialized experience is defined as: establishing and maintaining files; arranging meetings and conferences; maintaining time and attendance for personnel; preparing correspondence, reports, and other materials from rough draft, notes, and oral instructions.

Basis for Rating : Qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three quality categories: Best Qualified, Highly Qualified and Qualified. Veteran preference eligibles are listed ahead of non-preference eligibles within each quality category.
