The Administrative Support Assistant works under the direction of the Administrative Officer and this team forms the principal source of the administrative support located on this field station. The field station has a variety of operational issues such as heavy public use, extensive law enforcement, urban area location, active visitor/training center and relatively uncomplicated budget issues such as a variety of functional areas and transaction, program changes, funding sources, and multiple accounts.

DUTIES:
Manages the administrative, fiscal and support services functions for the field office and provides administrative support coordination between the field office, regional office, and various state and Federal agencies.
Assists in reviewing, compiling, developing and preparing budget cost estimates and justifications to support the program activities of the field office.
Procures all supplies, equipment, services and repairs through appropriate supply sources.
Provides information and assists employees with forms, processes payroll records, initiates personnel actions and enters information into automated system.
Assists ADP users in resolving problems related to information technology systems.
Assists and instructs users on standard software and/or application programs.
Provides fiscal and administrative guidance to field station personnel.
Prepares correspondence, forms, reports and other documents with a wide variety of technical terminology.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To meet the minimum qualifications requirements for this position, you must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent pay systems. Examples of specialized experience must demonstrate that you have skill performing a variety of administrative support functions for an office staff that includes financial tracking and monitoring, procurement/purchasing, travel management, property management; and skill utilizing personal computer, peripherals and operating systems to create and process data and provide information technology support to staff.
