The City of Norfolk's Community Services Board department is currently seeking a self-starting, detailed oriented Administrative Technician. The Administrative Technician will perform a variety of administrative, and human resources duties.

Essential Functions:
Hiring Salary Range ($28,250.52 - $30,423.12)
Performs administrative duties by greeting visitors and answering telephone inquiries, scanning/faxing documents, updating information in various personnel and EHR systems, maintaining files, receiving mail, processing and composing correspondence, coordinating travel arrangements, typing documents, ordering office supplies, compiling human resources reports, and payment vouchers. Performs human resource duties by tracking and preparing recruitment documentation for supervisors, processing new hires, conduct background checks, assist with disability management, setting appointments for interviews and background checks and preparing paperwork for new hires, promotions, terminations. Maintaining filing and creating of personnel, intern and volunteer records. Plan and coordinate monthly departmental orientation.

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
Two years clerical experience.

This position works Monday-Friday from 8:30a-5:00p.
