The Fredericksburg Region is in search of an Administrative Technician to provide support to the Special Agent in Charge and other regional staff. Candidate will initialize and conduct examinations of applicants applying for ABC licenses. Duties include making recommendations for approval, imaging and indexing licensee and regional data, entering data into CORE and the CMS system while analyzing and correcting data in the Bureau's data bases. Position also works with regional personnel to ensure retail applications are investigated and taxes and fees are processed and licensee and criminal records and files are properly maintained. This position frequently interacts with Bureau management and supervision, applicants, corporate officials, attorneys and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications

Selected candidate should have comprehensive knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, regulations and agency policies relative to corporations, partnerships, and ABC licensing, knowledge of computer systems and automated databases, proper use of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, composition of correspondence, knowledge of fundamental math, including basic statistics, and bookkeeping practices is essential. Experience performing data entry and preparing investigative reports and presenting the contents verbally is also needed as well as the ability to exercise independent judgment. Must be able to work independently, maintain confidentiality, handle stressful situations, compile and analyze pertinent information, and distinguish between relevant and irrelevant information to arrive at logical conclusions. Excellent customer service and problem solving skills are paramount. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of related enforcement investigative programs, policies and procedures along with current commission as/or eligibility to become a Notary Public.

Should also be skilled using advanced personal computer applications such as complex spreadsheets, database packages, statistical packages, office automation software, the Internet, and other software products required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
